Welcome to Maknoon Academy
Our qualified and experienced teachers teach Quran and Arabic to non-Arabic speakers, live online, to families and individuals across the globe.
We support you in your memorisation journey, no matter where you are at
Our trusted, proven approach to memorisation includes teaching you accurate Quran recitation with Tajweed rulings. Consistent revision also means your older memorisation only gets stronger.
Alhamdulillah, my children have memorised close to a third of the Quran with their sheikh. The approach is excellent, with a strong focus on revision so they remember previous surahs and ajza while continuing to progress with memorisation. They started with no knowledge of tajweed, yet they tell me it was taught in a way that never felt intimidating, and their recitation and confidence has grown significantly. As a parent, I've also really appreciated the flexibility in accommodating changes to lesson times. Highly recommend. May Allah reward Maknoon academy and their teachers for their great work.
Why Our Lessons Work
With live, one-to-one online lessons and flexible scheduling, we prioritise your access to quality Quran and Arabic education. We are always happy to help our students.
We strive to inspire you with the deen, so that you leave not only more knowledgeable, but also inspired to continue learning and growing.
Ijazah and sanad on completion
When you complete your Quran memorisation with us, we award you a certified ijazah with a sanad — a recorded chain linking you back to your teacher, and to their teacher, and eventually to the Prophet (peace be upon him). It is granted on the recitation rather than on attendance, and is recognised across the Muslim world.
Monthly competitions
Every month the academy runs a Quran competition covering memorisation, tajweed and recitation, and students who do well are awarded special prizes. Children in particular look forward to them, and they give any student a reason to strengthen their memorisation.
